Room view of an arch and window of a Mediterranean garden

This is a two panel installation designed to conform to a sidewall and recessed niche of a dining room. In order to ensure a completely integrated image, the sizeable canvas ascends 120" (10 feet) from the finished floor. The canvas begins on the far left corner of the wall, wraps around the bull nose corner and recedes to the corner of the niche. The second piece of canvas spans the recessed niche. The entire commission required two pieces of canvas totaling 10'x15'.
The client wanted to create the illusion of an entrance to a courtyard surrounded by a lush Mediterranean garden. By working with the clients interior furnishings and decorative motif were included within the image matching carvings and ornamentation that catered to the client's decorative style.
Post install, the floorboard in front of the implied archway was hand painted to match the hue and tufting of the flooring. The illusion of walking into the image was complete.
